Ajay Manthripragada founded an independent office in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2015. He was nominated for the 2018 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize and won the Lily Auchincloss Rome Prize in Architecture from the American Academy in Rome, where he was in residence from summer 2023 to summer 2024.

Manthripragada is Assistant Professor of Architecure at the University of California, Berkeley. He previously taught at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and the School of Architecure at Rice University, among others. He holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an MArch from Princeton University.
